2 weeks in my first host family

Hello!

On 15th of July, Friday at 9am we left Hofstra uni and we started our trip to host families. We were on place after 3pm. My host dad with a daughter took me from Newton. They have me flowers and a little poster "Welcome Pati". We went to one city cause the girl had classes there - help develop her skills. Then, host dad took me home and left me alone, cause he needed to go somewhere! I was in shock....new place, new people and me alone ^^ I was so angry and sad :P after 1 hour the host mum with the kid came back and we went for a dinner....

During the weekend we went to Marblehead where we were boating and also swimming. On Sunday - big grocery shopping and testing me as a driver :)

What I was doing there? Hmm during the day I had off so I spent time talking with my friends and family and also I used to go to the gym and swimming pool.

One weekend, I spent in Boston with French and German girl ;)

I also met some Polish girls and we hung out ;)

After one week I decided to go rematch - change family. Why? Host parents were really nice to me, they were pround of me as a driver and also my job..... but I was a bit bored there and the girl was 11 years old. I realised I want to spend a year with young kids...

On Monday, 25th of July, my lcc (local childcare concultant) came to our house to talk in general. And then, I talked that I don't wanna be there, I feel so sad but I feel unhappy....They were so dissapointed and angry....I spent 4 more days in their house - till Friday. The atmosphere wasn't as before, obviously ;) but I did my job as good as I could.

On Friday I went to my lcc's house and I spent a week there - looking for a new host family. Playing with my lcc's daughter and spending time in Boston ;)

I had few families on my profile - from Long Island, Utah, Georgia.......and finally I got one who interested me, in NY ;) After few conversation, they told me they want me as an au pair! I was s happy!

Before I left, my lcc took me to Boston, because I wanted to explore more of this city - I am not sure if I come back there - I have other places on my list to visit :)

On Saturday, 6th of August, I took a train from Boston to New Rochelle and I met my family there!

I was soooo excited and happy :)  It was a great decision!

Training school

HELLO !

I spent 4 days in the training school - Hofstra University in Hempstead on Long Island. 11st-15th of July.

We landed in JFK in New York after 6pm on 11st of July. A guy came for us and took us to the university. We were on place around 8pm. ( 6 girls from Poland - only 4, including me, went to Hofstra, other two went to another uni ). We got our room - I shared a room with a Swedish girl. I took a shower and went sleep.
On Tuesday - I woke up around 6am ! ( jetlag) :P and Wednesday we had breakfast between 7-8am and then classes till 5-6 pm. BORING :P I didn't learn too much new things.... We had break for lunch and also free time in the evening, I spent this time with my friends from Poland.

On Thursday we had CPR classes and then trip to New York City ! Aaaaa I love this city! We had a bus around 3pm...when we got NYC it was rianing cats and dogs literally..... I was so sad.....we all were! When I noticed first skyscrapers, I was impressed!!!!! When we got there, fortunately the rain stopped and there was the Sun! :D
I left the bus at the Battery Park and I met with my friend ! <3 We went near the Charging Bull, Wall Str and then took a subway to Time Square! We were just walking around as I didn't have time coz after 6pm I needed to be near Top of the Rock, cause all group met there to got into the building. The view was STUNNING. I just cannot describe it....I was so happy!
Then I took my 3 Polish friend, we again met with my friend and we went to Subway to eat :D and then Time Square, we took pic with policemen! :D When it was becoming darker.....the view was amazing, all those lights....just breathtaking! We took a lot of pics!
Then we came back by bus with all group around 10pm. EXHAUSTED!

On Friday we had breakfast in the morning and then at 9am bus to our host families.

Last week in Poland

Last week in Poland

I haven’t written for a while due to lack of time…

Last week in Poland, before my trip to USA was really busy. I have been at the seaside with a friend, where I spent an amazing time. When I came back I had only 6 days till the flight. I spent time with my family and friends, cleaned my house :P and all that stuff
J
Saying “Goodbye” was really hard
L however it is “only” a year or two…. It I still a year or two J
But I am not here for my whole life….

On Sunday morning – 10th of July, my friend drove me to Wrocław where I had a train to Warsaw. I am so thankful her! Because a day before, my dad’s car broke down….

In another city Opole, my friend who I met before ( also au pair ) got in the train and we were together on our way. We were in Warsaw, hmm…. Around 1pm. We got in a right bus, but not this way we wanted to go …. So we had to change our bus :D Then we got off the bus three bus stops earlier….so we walked on foot with out luggage….. :P Finally, we arrived to our hotel in Warsaw….We just checked in and then we went to the centre, had dinner and we were waiting for another friend, who we met around 4-5pm. Then, together we went to Palace of Culture and Science and we have just admired the view from around 180m
J We came back to our hotel around 8pm. Took a shower and we went to a lobby to watch the final of Euro 2012….Then, we couldn’t fall asleep :D Because the next day was our flight!

We woke up around 8am. We had taxi around 10am. We checked in at the airport and met the rest of the girls – in total 6 Polish girls who were going to USA.

Our flight to London was quite nice.
Then in London we had adventure, because we almost missed our plane to New York City! One girl had problem with her hand luggage, and she had to wait for a guy to check it….Finally, we got on a plane. I was sitting with one friend from Poland. I watched two movies during the flight. We talked to each other and at the end admired the New York City from aerial view.

How did we spend time in Training school ? I will write about it soon
J

Jestem podekscytowana! :)

WIZA !!

NO I JEST!

Wczoraj - 31.03 o 10.45 miałam spotkanie w Krakowie. Wstałam o 3.40 gdyż o 4.45 miałam autobus do Krakowa z Wrocławia!
No i BACH nr 126, idę....po drugiej strony miły pan z siwą brodą, powiedział: "Hi Patricia, how are you?" Na co ja: "Hi, I am fine, and you?" :D Oczywiście obydwoje uśmiech na twarzy! Stres kompletnie zszedł :) Spojrzał na dokument i powiedział, że widzi iż lecę jako au pair do stanu Massachusetts - good for you. It is similar to Poland - stwierdził, gdyż np Boston to połączenie nowoczesności ze starymi budowlami :) Następnie mówi "o widzę że pracujesz we Wrocławiu" ( to nie jest moje rodzinne miasto :) ) odpowiedziałam - TAK, nic więcej o pracę nie pytał. Na koniec - CO CHCESZ ROBIĆ JAK WRÓCISZ ? :) Odpowiedziałam, iż chcę iść na kolejne studia mgr oraz porobić kursy :) Wklepał coś do komputerka i...... YOUR VISA IS APPROVED :)

Powodzenia! Uśmiech na twarzy i zero stresu :)
